Young Farmers & Ranchers
The Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers program promotes and strengthens Louisiana agriculture by offering opportunities for training and leadership experience to younger producers. The program focuses on personal growth and leadership development in the areas of public speaking, media training, issue advocacy, business development, networking, service leadership and telling the story of agriculture.
Dr. Julie Baker Richard is the assistant director of field services. She coordinates the Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers activities. Dr. Richard can be contacted by e-mail or phone at 225-922-6213.

Young Farmers & Ranchers T-shirt Sale Benefiting Louisiana Food Banks
Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers won the Most Innovative Fund-raiser Idea award at the American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers Leadership Conference in February 2011. The committee raised money for America's Second Harvest Food Bank by selling custom t-shirts. The Louisiana Young Farmers & Ranchers committee will donate the $500 to America's Second Harvest Food Bank.
