MEET THE KENT FAMILY

Meet the first finalists for the 2016 Louisiana Farm Bureau's Young Farmers and Ranchers Achievement Award - Russell & Amelia Kent. TWILA's Karl Wiggers takes us to the Kent's farm in Slaughter, LA, where the couple works side-by-side, to grow a successful ag business.

MEET THE LUCKETT FAMILY

Meet the second finalists for the 2016 Louisiana Farm Bureau's Young Farmers and Ranchers Achievement Award - Derek & Kacie Luckett. TWILA's Karl Wiggers takes us to Luckett Farms in Pride, LA, where the Lucketts grow vegetables and deliver them to doorsteps across the capital region.

MEET THE YERBY FAMILY

Meet the third finalists for the 2016 Louisiana Farm Bureau's Young Farmers and Ranchers Achievement Award - Ryan & Danielle Yerby. TWILA's Karl Wiggers takes us to their farm in Grant Parish, where the Yerby's have faced a flood of challenges, but they are still thriving as a young farm family.

Once every year, the Louisiana Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers and Ranchers spend a day at the state capitol to meet their lawmakers and see the governmental process first hand.  TWILA's Kristen Oaks-White shows us why every visit is an important visit because legislation impacts their farms and their lives.

The Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee hosts their annual Youth Livestock Show in Alexandria. TWILA's Kristen Oaks-White takes us there to show us why these young ranchers come back year after year.

Members of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers and Ranchers took a trip to Capitol Hill to learn more about trade promotion authority, the farm bill, and the H2B guest worker program. TWILA's A.J. Sabine was there to bring us the story.
